De'Vannon Seráphino: [00:00:00] Hello, hello, hello, everyone. This is Devan and Sarah Fino, and I would love, love, love, love, love to welcome you back to the Sex, Drugs, and Jesus podcast. Thank you so much for your patience with me as I have been on a little bit of a hiatus, but I am here today to explain that to you in part, and also to talk to you about the different stages of each zodiac sign.
De'Vannon Seráphino: We're entering into a time where our spirituality Even though it's always been important is becoming an even more increasing importance and it's getting super necessary and crucial and quintessential and all those things for us to understand, understand ourselves as a spirit, the Zodiac astrology. The tarot, I have all of those lessons getting ready to come up.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I'm going to go through each zodiac sign because I want [00:01:00] people to get past like this oversimplification when they refer to themselves in the zodiac or other people, because there's actually three stages to each.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Zodiac sign as we go from shadow to light or shadow to ascend it and and then after I get through the zodiac signs and I'm going to go through each tarot card over several lessons and then I'll get into the chakras and then the houses and the planets and all of that. And so that we can begin to understand ourselves.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Better more spiritually from this type of perspective. In order to make it and to survive in this world, to show up strong for our relationships and for ourselves, we must get a grip on ourselves as a soul. We will have our experiences in life. We will do the things physically that we want to do. I don't really feel like so much emphasis.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Should be put on having experiences all the time, and I think that we really need to get back to the soul of the matter. Because if you do all the experiences you want to do and you leave God or the [00:02:00] divine as you choose to describe it out of it and you don't understand yourself as a soul Then you're cheating yourself because you're actually not really enjoying your experiences to the depth And in the manner that you could, so basically you're selling yourself short, having like a Big Mac experience when it should have been a salmon or a sirloin steak or a lobster, but you're settling for less than what you're supposed to be having if you don't sort out your soul and understand yourself as a soul and bring the divine into absolutely everything that you do.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Now I'm going to share a lot in this. Particular episode, there's a be quite a bit of reading because I need to lay the foundation. The subsequent episodes won't need all this background information, but I must explain, like, say, what the Zodiac is a little bit about where it came from and some background things like that.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I'm going to approach this to the best of my ability as I'm talking to somebody who's never heard of the Zodiac before. It's quite complex. So I always encourage you to do [00:03:00]Reading and research for yourself. I will be putting many links in the show notes because I pulled information from all kinds of websites and so I won't bother quoting them throughout the episode.
De'Vannon Seráphino: They will be in the show notes. If you want to do further research, though, there is a ton available in books and also on the Internet.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So I think I took before I get into the Zodiac and start talking about all of that. I do want to explain where I've been. I finally took a break. I don't really take a break. I think we've had this podcast like 3 gone on 4 years now or something like that, even though I moved up here to New York and I was going through all that trouble and I was sick.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Physically and mentally in and out of the hospital and everything like that. I did not want to let the trouble that I was going through hinder this ministry, as you know, as they say in John wick, what good is anything when it's [00:04:00] convenient. I didn't want to be like, okay, well, I'm not in my house, so I can't get up and walk across the room and go get on my microphone, so I'm just not going to do it, so I was in a homeless shelter, and what I was doing, and I've never really divulged this before, but what I would do, I was at a homeless shelter in the Bronx, and I was renting stuff.
De'Vannon Seráphino: The free conference room space in the Brooklyn public library system, which is like an hour, hour and a half away from the Bronx. It takes forever to get anywhere. When you live in the Bronx, like, God, I live in Manhattan. Now it is a huge difference. Huge time saving that would rent conference space in the.
De'Vannon Seráphino: In Brooklyn and come from the Bronx. From the shelter with like my mic and everything like that, and I would go back and forth like that every day to try to work and plan to the wife. I was better in Brooklyn. I had a hot spot in the, in the homeless shelter, but it really wasn't. It wasn't strong enough to really work.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Like, I wanted to work on most days. I think some [00:05:00] days it would, but really it wasn't. It really wasn't something I could comfortably rely on. And so I moved into my apartment in April and I still, I still waited till I, got fairly settled. And then I was like, okay, I think I can breathe now and exhale a little bit.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I felt like I've been faithful and doing a good job and I, and I did let my circumstances cancel this good work here. So then I felt like the spirit was leading me to take time off to recharge, to get caught up on some of the backend things like emails and administrative stuff in the background. Cause y'all know, I do everything for the podcast myself, as well as running my retail store down under apparel.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Staying on top of any books that I'm writing, which I am working on a poetry book and eventually I'll write a book about my transition from Louisiana to New York. But that must come later. Because this poetry book is really was at the forefront. It should be called [00:06:00] desert rat and it's going to.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Because I'm a total desert right at heart from the Arizona desert, right? The California desert. To the Middle East desert. I love the desert. I was first introduced to the desert when I was in the United States Air Force, and I fell in love with it. Then there was some correlation there between me being in desert, right?
De'Vannon Seráphino: And all of these New York rats running around here. You know, I'm here for it, but all has been well in the background. I've just been working out being really healthy sorting out like my life here trying to get my social circles together. And the Lord, I believe has done for me. If you go back several episodes when I was in the mental hospital hospital in New Orleans.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Last year, I think around April, I know I've had several trips to the mental hospital. It can be a little hard to keep up with, but, and that guy who had, I think, some type of Alzheimer's or whatever, who would be generally acting what we might call erratic. He suddenly, like, I guess, [00:07:00] sobered up and came to, and he walked over to me as I was coloring in the coloring book, which is just about all you can do at a mental hospital, and he just, he suddenly got very clear, and he looked at me, I didn't know this guy, I didn't know anybody in there, because it was a mental hospital, and he looked at me, and he said, good people are coming into your life, and then he went back into his Alzheimer's state, or whatever it is, and I understood that that was God speaking to me, And at that time, and that was right after that terrible relationship that I was in last year ended, and I didn't have a whole lot of faith in people, especially, you know, not males, but that was a word of encouragement.
De'Vannon Seráphino: And I believe that that word has been performed by God this day. I don't have a credible amount of say friends up here in New York, but I have a few like two or three damn good ones. I'm not looking for quantities, massive quantities. I [00:08:00] am open for whoever the spirit wants to bring into my life because this is all about, and I recommend this for you to high quality people, not a lot of people.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So there's much more screening out and filtering and turning away that God and I do because. It's very, very crucial who we let into our lives. It represents who we are. It's our reputation before the divine, whoever we let into our lives will direct, redirect our course to some degree, our relationships reflect who we are.
De'Vannon Seráphino: And so it is very important that we be very selective about who we let in our lives, be it friends, lovers, business relationships, whatever the case might be. Even if you go get a cat or whatever the case may be, take time to feel that energy out and be sure that you're going to have balance, whoever you bring into your home, into your life.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Because the consequences for falling out of balance are severe, [00:09:00] and one way that Lucifer will throw you out of balance is through another person, whose energy you haven't fact checked, and letting them get close to you, so be very mindful and prayerful of that. Nevertheless, here we are. Oh, and speaking of cats, I did pop down to Louisiana for a hot second to check on the lovely Miss Felicity Cleopatra, my daughter, my five year old.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Maine Coon Mix Cat, my son, Mr. Felix D. Cat, my seven year old Maine Coon Mix. They are alive and healthy and well, about 17, 18 pounds each. They're really long fuckin cats and I do like bicep curls with them and it's just absolutely funny. And and so, so all is well. All is well. I will be, what, in San Francisco at the end of this month for the Folsom Street Fair, and then I will be traveling to Guadalajara next month.[00:10:00]
De'Vannon Seráphino: And staying there for like, pretty much a month, I think 28 days to undergo the best way I can describe it. We can say, like, shamanic rites of passage. So to speak, I will be going to study with the people who administer plant medicines and things like that. The very people who I visited last year when I underwent my name change ceremony and things like that.
De'Vannon Seráphino: And when I started doing ayahuasca in Puerto Vallarta they've agreed to take me on and teach me personally. So I will be there like a month learning. And when I come back to New York, I will be qualified to lead other people in plant medicine, rituals, and different things like that. Adding to the healing services I already provide, to the magic that I already know how to do.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Isn't that incredible? Ain't God good? I'm so excited to be on this journey and taking you with me. All right, enough about me and where I didn't been.[00:11:00]
De'Vannon Seráphino: Astrology, zodiac, and other divinatory arts are like, they're like tools of the trade, and I want you to be very, very clear on the fact that this does not take the place of establishing a relationship with the divine as you would understand it. Everybody knows, you know, I worship God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, I have the time https: otter.
De'Vannon Seráphino: ai
De'Vannon Seráphino: Okay, I've been healed of old religious trauma and wounds. I moved on from that. That shall never happen again. I shall never relive that experience again, but I took God and the Trinity with me because they haven't done me anything wrong. The angels haven't done me anything wrong. All right.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Understand that, that, that the Zodiac is where a lot of people begin their spirituality and that's all well and great. I [00:12:00] look at it, though, as that, like, the Trinity commands the planets because they created the stars is what I believe. Everybody should believe what they believe. You know, but I believe that the Trinity created the stars, the planets, all the galaxies, and that God is, you know, a single Trinity.
De'Vannon Seráphino: God commands all of these things and put all those constellations in place and gave us these things to find in the Hebrew scriptures. There's a scripture that talks about how it is the glory of God to conceal the matter, but the honor of Kings is to search it out. And so I believe that the Lord has planted these things here.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Most tarot readers, which I have become, zodiac people and all of that. Either quote the universe or a different deities. They might post Shiva or Kali or Hikate or Anubis or whoever the fuck the case might be, but we got to always be clear on who we believe in and why. So I want you to know where I'm coming [00:13:00] from.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I don't judge my fellow readers and people like that. many of my good friends do not believe in God, not worried about that. What we focus on is what we have in common. But if you're going to go to a reader, listen to somebody's astrology, you should always be aware of who and what they believe in, just so that you can be monitoring that the energy is balanced out and jive with whatever you believe in.
De'Vannon Seráphino: It's the only reason that I'm saying that. And, and, and I, and I would, I would also offer and posit that. Whatever you do believe in, be sure that it comes from your personal experience, you know, as best that you can, because, you know, I, I believe in God, but, you know, I started dreaming that Lord started visiting me in powerful dreams when I was around five years old.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I didn't start reading the Bible till I was like in eighth grade or high school. And so before, like the church or like the Bible could like [00:14:00] influence my mind like that, I was, the Lord is already dealing with me deeply in the spirit. And so I speak and teach from lived experiences, not from what I was taught by somebody else.
De'Vannon Seráphino: And so these are things that you must check for and be careful to, like, if you're going to go hire different, witches our practitioners to do things for you. Like, there's 1 lady in a real estate who I was talking to. Was talking about how her business grew. She went online and found this lady, I think, in Atlanta or Georgia or some damn where She went on there and hired her to help her business grow.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I said, well, what ritual did she do? What what deity did she pray to? What exactly was the spell? She was like, I don't know. I don't care. I just paid her the money. I ain't worried about all that And I was like and I, and I, and I tell her, I believe I tell her the same thing I'm telling you, if you hire somebody like that and they do some [00:15:00] crazy evil shit to get you whatever the fuck it is you think you want and can't live without, you are going to be responsible for that karmically because you enlisted that person's services.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So if they go and sacrifice a person, which you can sacrifice the person's life, physically their joy, their happiness. You can ruin their romantic relationships. You can close their businesses through dark magic, evil intended magic. And that is all a form of sacrifice that a demonic and fallen influences will accept.
De'Vannon Seráphino: In order to move on your behalf, and so you better be careful and ask these people who they're praying to on your behalf and what they're going to do, even if you're not going to do the ritual yourself and you want to hire them. I get that. If you don't feel so magically inclined, but you do need to give a damn about the mechanisms and how they're going about getting you your come up because if it's not done, right.
De'Vannon Seráphino: You're going to have that come up for a while, maybe, if God decides to let it pass, but then it's [00:16:00] going to turn rotten later on. So be very, very careful about who you hire and who you go to for spiritual services, and be sure that they're not doing that shady. Ask the hard questions.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I will discuss the history of the Zodiac here shortly. But even without that, why I think that there's a much credibility to astrology in the Zodiac and Tarot is because enough of us have lived throughout the ages that this world has spawned in its current form to cross check and to verify that, okay, most people born under the sign of Sagittarius or Leo.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Or Capricorn tend to be this way or, or when the astrologers do their forecast on this day, this day will be a very auspicious day or whatever. Most of us have been able to verify that generally a lot of that does check out. So, even with knowing the history and going back and researching the history, the road seemed to divide on exactly where a lot of this began [00:17:00] and whatnot.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So it requires some element of faith. To believe it, but it can be verified in your own life too. If you listen to enough people, this is a guide to help us not something for you to strictly live by. We all can have different signs and our charts. Our sun sign specifically is the. The sign that was passing through the sun as I believe it, I'm going to clarify that in a minute.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Well, it is the, it is the sign that was passed through the sun at their time of birth. But our ascendant sign, our rising sign is something different. You know, that's more like in our, what we would call like our first house. And that's more like how we show up to our relationship. So, my sun sign is Sagittarius.
De'Vannon Seráphino: However, my rising or ascended sign is Scarpio, and then my moon sign is Capricorn, all right. There is a website that I'm going to put in the show notes that has to do with birth charts. I think it's called like astro. [00:18:00] charts. com. You can go there and put your time of birth, date of birth, and it will give you your sun sign, your moon sign, and a million other things too, so you can get all down into it.
De'Vannon Seráphino: That's just one website. There's plenty of them that does it, and you can go and kind of fish around through there. And use it because there is some guidance here of some of you are coming from very broken religious religious background. Some of you have never believed anything spiritually before. This could be a great stepping stone for you to one day bridge a relationship with the divine as you feel called to do it, whether it's the Hebrew God that I serve or somebody else.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I really don't care because that's that's up to you. But. This is still better than nothing. And so many people I talked to have a vague spirituality or they don't, and they're not, they don't really have any plans of getting about the business of sorting it out. You're not always going to be in this earth.
De'Vannon Seráphino: You're not always going to be in human form. You will die [00:19:00] one day. And then I don't believe in reincarnation. God, I never told me nothing about reincarnation. There are those who put their faith in reincarnation. I choose to look at this as a one and done. You know, if for some reason that's a thing, then, hey, then I led a really fucking good life and I get to come back and really kick ass again, but I just don't see that because all of my ancestors are not back in the human form because I speak with them, you know, in the spirit and things like that.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So they have not reincarnated. So I don't look at it that way. If you want to, again, that's up to you. I'm not here to argue. About any of that,
De'Vannon Seráphino: but either way, you want a high quality, even, even people who believe in reincarnation. Cause I researched this as I understand it. They believe that even if you reincarnate, what you reincarnate as is a [00:20:00] different level. It's like, if you're a shitty person and you treat people bad, you're not gonna reincarnate as like, say, somebody rich with, say, good sense.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Or, Some high level being, you know, they believe you're gonna reincarnate as some fucked up, like, animal or some bullshit ass evil thing, a scorpion or a spider or some bullshit. Like, they don't they believe if you live a shitty a shitty life, you're not gonna reincarnate as anything worthwhile. So whether you don't believe in hell, if you believe in reincarnation, you better be working out your soul and getting it together, and don't think that you're guaranteed to live old.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I say this all the time, I've been to plenty damn funerals, and most of those people were in between 20 and 40. It's not really old people that die a fucking lot, it's like, the middle. It's like that middle age. You know, when the old people I've been around do die, they be like, Peace out, motherfuckers!
De'Vannon Seráphino: Deuces, the angels are waiting. I'm flying off by, by, just by, they can't, can't damn near fucking [00:21:00] wait to take this, but take that last breath. And I'm not talking about people who were like in a bad state when they're dying. Well, people who are in their right mind, body generally is working good. And they're just like deuces, like they're so clear on their transition.
De'Vannon Seráphino: That is how you want to be. You don't want to come to a point where you're dying. And you fucking don't want to die. It's terrible. I had that experience when I was like a teenager. I woke up in the middle of the night and I had some kind of heart arrhythmic thing or whatever the fuck was going on and I couldn't breathe.
De'Vannon Seráphino: And my breath was like, was like just getting away from me and I couldn't catch it. And it felt like I was dying. And I saw down like this tunnel and I saw people I didn't recognize. And I saw a person who I knew had already died. And I, as far as I understood it, I was dying in that moment. But the Lord revived me and I came and I woke back up, you know, the next day.
De'Vannon Seráphino: But in that [00:22:00] moment, when those breaths were fleeting away from me, I just wasn't fucking ready and I did not like that feeling of wanting to breathe and not being able to breathe. I could not control my breathing and my breath was just leaving. Okay, and I guess I passed out or fainted. I don't know what happened.
De'Vannon Seráphino: No, when the Lord get ready to snatch you out of here, you're not going to be able to stay. Because you want to stay. You will depart this plane of existence. And a huge part Of this ministry is to prepare you for that reality, have your experiences, enjoy this physical plane. But baby, you have got to be just as intentional, intentional about getting about your spiritual welfare and doing your spiritual duties and not waiting for some magical day for them to just fall on your lap.
De'Vannon Seráphino: You're not going to do yourself into a service that way.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So again, be sure that what you believe. If you can, you know, something due to some personal experience, because when [00:23:00] things hit you hard in life, you got to be able to remember why you believe in what deity you believe in, you know, why it's difficult if you only believe spiritually, because your parents told you to, or your family did.
De'Vannon Seráphino: That's why everybody I know who's Catholic ain't Catholic no more, because they believed because their family told them to. That's not the same thing as having a divine experience with God. You got to get alone with God, pray fast, read the Hebrew scriptures, meditate, do those things to reach out to God and he will reach back to you.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So I encourage you to get personal with God, leave everybody else's fucking opinion out of it, and look at it for yourself, and get alone with God for yourself, get away from people all the time, get in your own energy and quiet down.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Dating, dating, dating, dating, dating, dating. So many people [00:24:00] assign you hear what people say, like, you know, Gemini is not compatible with this sign. You know, Or all Gemini's are two faced, or every Sagittarius just is flighty, and every Scorpio's a whore, or whatever the case might be. Okay, do I really have to explain how fucking crazy that sounds?
De'Vannon Seráphino: Most people who talk like that don't even fucking know that there's three stages of evolution to each zodiac sign. While some of that is true, but that's not gonna apply to everybody. There's millions of people in this world. None of this is going to apply to all of us at the same time. Alright? Do not fuck up a perfectly good romantic relationship that you could have had with somebody because the stars don't seem to align.
De'Vannon Seráphino: People's relationships, in my opinion, and what the spirit is showing me, not because of your zodiac signs not being in alignment, but because [00:25:00] everybody involved in the relationship, you know, Are under evolved. You have not fixed your inner child. If you don't have a healed inner child, you really don't have no damn business trying to date in a damn body.
De'Vannon Seráphino: You need to go back and do your soul work. Cause you won't be able to see the world clearly as you think you're seeing it until you're in a child is healed and brought to the forefront because your inner child has everything to do with creativity. You're, you know, the way you can enjoy life to its most finite granule with your inner child and bondage.
De'Vannon Seráphino: You are not fully free. Therefore, you're not able to fully show up to a relationship. Your relationship's in because not everybody involved is an individual therapy. I don't give a damn if it's a psychotherapist, a hypnotherapist, a shaman, a mystic, a guru, a fucking witch doctor. Somebody needs to have some type of objective
De'Vannon Seráphino: Third eye examining their situation to give them honest [00:26:00] truth. The interesting caveat to that is the way people report information to these objective third eyes is influenced subjectively by whether or not their inner child is healed and being worked on. Say like a narcissist will show up to a counseling session and give a version.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Of the truth to a therapist, a therapist can only respond to what's being told. So, therefore, the quality of your therapy relies directly on your ability to tell yourself the truth and thereby their counselor the truth. Now, what are you going to do with that? Okay, work on your child first and be sure that you're telling the truth.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Work on that with your therapist. Don't hop right in the relationship therapy. Each individual person has to be dealt with first. Relationships fail because each person involved in relationships are not serious about their soul journey. You are a soul. You're mind, body, soul, spirit. You can't eat food and go have sex and travel and make [00:27:00] money and forget to pray and meditate and get close to God and read spiritual things.
De'Vannon Seráphino: How are you feeding your soul? If you don't do that, a whole third part of you is starved, if not dead, and you, and you think you're going to show up to a romantic relationship and make it work. For a while you might, but it won't sustain when shit gets hard or when you change or transition and relationships reflect who we are and relationships challenge us, they're supposed to.
De'Vannon Seráphino: It's a tool that God uses to grow us and strengthen us. When, and when we were faced with a challenge in a relationship, like an emotion that comes up, like we might be tempted to. Be obsessive over whether or not they've texted us back or about where they're at. When that comes up, we've got to be able to recognize that it's an echo from our childhood and not reality in the moment, not channel that energy into whoever our love interest is and deal with that shit with the divine or with the therapist.[00:28:00]
De'Vannon Seráphino: That's a part of self awareness that people don't have in relationships. It is not because of your Zodiac sign. That people break up, it is because the work has not been done individually. But if you do relationships right, Then you can grow from them and you should be challenging people in your relationships, be it my friends or whatever.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I like to circle back around to them every now and then and be like, How have you benefited from having me in your life? I also asked my friends and any potential lovers, you know, to quantify to me the changes that they've had, their growth. You were like this then, you're like this now. What did you do to achieve that?
De'Vannon Seráphino: Did you pray? Did you go do some psilocybin? Did you see a therapist? I need to see that people are growing and actively working on themselves. I don't give a damn what the dynamic is. And I also ask them to be sure that I've added value. I don't assume that. I want to know that people who are in my life, the [00:29:00] hand selected people in my life, have been made better because they know me.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So I will ask them, how are you better because I've been in your life? Like, maybe once a year, every few months, whatever the spirit brings into my mind, you know, I'll go, what value? Why am I here? You know, you really think that you want to keep me around? Is this relationship still profitable for both of us?
De'Vannon Seráphino: You know, there's billions of people in the world. We only need to spend time on relationships that are working for us. And if they're not, and I don't care how long we've had them, we need to let that shit go. And evolve, because we have a God to stand before one day. And we also want to have full joy in this life.
De'Vannon Seráphino: And having relationships that are not giving. Hey, good, nothing but drag you down. So we can't keep relationship because of propensity or because of history. It has to be actively giving to you right now, or it has to go and let yourself slip into the situation of being used by somebody because they've always been there.
De'Vannon Seráphino: But in the Hebrew Bible, and in the book of Mark chapter 10, it talks [00:30:00] about how what God has joined together, let no one put us under. So if the Holy Ghost decides that you Are you going to be together? You're going to fucking be together and the Lord is going to help you to work it out, but God is not going to do that till both of y'all are in front of a therapist, working on yourselves and different things like that.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So that you're being honest with yourself and telling the truth. And you've ascended to a point that you don't do things like argue. You don't have to argue, or you don't have to raise your voice at nobody. Too many people think that nobody should believe that arguing and strife is a part of relationships, be it romantic or family.
De'Vannon Seráphino: No, it isn't. Those people have decided that. You do not have to argue or raise your voice literally ever. People do that when they lose track of gratitude, and they become ungrateful, and they forget just how bad shit could really be. There's nothing to fight about or argue about. We have so much to be thankful for and you have to let everybody be on their own spiritual journey.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I was talking to this, a fellow magic worker. There's a witch the [00:31:00]other day. I was trying to explain to her how there's just certain things that are just You just have to have them in place. Like everybody has to be working on their spirituality. Everybody has to be clear on that. If you're going to be dating somebody, there's, that's non negotiable.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Everybody's inner child has to be, if not healed, you need to be damn sure working on it and be willing to admit that, that, that the purse, that the inner child is fucked up and that it needs to be made right. And you need to have a plan in place and be in front of some type of therapist. This, this fellow witch of mine was like, no, I'm not worried about the spiritual part.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I can handle that for both of us. Okay. No, it don't work that way. I used to think something similar along those lines. Like I could just pray and keep my partner covered, you know, in the past, but no, they got to do their own fucking praying. And like, there's certain things you as their partner can pray them through, but [00:32:00] you can not pray them through everything and you can not sustain the entire relationship to put it simply ain't nobody, witch enough are holy enough or saved enough.
De'Vannon Seráphino: To cover everybody in the relationship. They need to be doing that themselves. That's like trying to eat food to nourish some damn body else. You can't do that. And I couldn't explain to this person to get them to accept that they need to let whoever they're trying to date be strong before the divine.
De'Vannon Seráphino: And then both of you come together with your individual strength, combined strength. But we cannot carry other people's spiritual burdens to that degree. We can guide them, give them options, but we can't be nobody's fucking savior. I don't care which god you believe in. You do not have that much power.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So, after this, necessary tirade here that I went off on, let's get into this Zodiac business. [00:33:00] Again, I won't, this following information is not something that I'm going to need. To say in the subsequent episode, so this one is going to be more on the lengthy side because this is laying the foundation.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Let's start with the first question. What is the zodiac sign? Now, in Western astrology, astrological signs are the 1230 degree sectors that make up Earth's 360 degree orbit around the sun. The signs enumerate from the first day of spring, known as the first point of Aries, which is the vernal equinox. The astrological signs are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.
De'Vannon Seráphino: The Western Zodiac originated in Babylonian astrology and was later influenced by the Hellenistic culture. Each sign was named after a [00:34:00] constellation the sun annually moved through while crossing the sky. These constellations, like, how you see the stars that look like the archer or a crab or a scorpion, how you see, like, on the internet, on television, wherever, they kind of look like these things.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So those are the constellations in the sky. You had to go out to the fucking country or be at an observatory to see them now, because the city lights, you know, take all the stars out of the sky.
De'Vannon Seráphino: This observation is emphasized in the simplified and popular sun sign astrology, which is what we have here in the West. The word zodiac is used in astronomy and astrology to refer to the band of sky over which the sun, moon, planets move as seen from Earth. In astrology, the sign of the Zodiac refers to one of 12 specific constellations of the Zodiac that the sun passes through.
De'Vannon Seráphino: A person's particular sign of the Zodiac is the one [00:35:00] that the sun was in when they were born. It is a belief in astrology that a person's personality can be predicted using their sign of the Zodiac. According to astrology, it is also possible to predict the future by looking at the position of the sun.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Sun, moon and planets in comparison to the Zodiac constellations and an astrological map of the planets and Zodiac is called a horoscope. The word horoscope is also used to refer to a prediction of the future using such a map. I forgot to tell y'all that I. Besides my sun sign being Sagittarius and my moon sign being Capricorn and my rising or ascending Scorpio, I also have a Libra.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Libra is the sign that I was born into when I did my new birth in Guadalajara last year, because we did it under a full moon in Libra. And so when somebody chooses to go through us, [00:36:00] like what I did was a psychedelic, shamanic rebirth under very powerful psychedelics out like in the wilderness. With the shamans and things like that.
De'Vannon Seráphino: And there was fire rituals and water rituals. There was a burial. There was all kinds of things that we did to get rid of the old person. And thus I was born Serafino. When that happens, then you take on a stronger manifestation of whatever sign your new birth is done in. And so having done this, I also bear more Libra than I did before.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So then this balances me out perfectly because now I have air, water, earth, and fire. You know, heavily influencing me after this decision that the Lord led me to do. So, I asked, I posed the question, why fire, earth, water, air? Why do we affiliate with these elements at all? What I found was that the Greek philosopher, Empedocles, I think is how you say that, [00:37:00] identified fire, earth, air, and water as elements in the 5th century B.
De'Vannon Seráphino: C. He explained the nature of the universe as an interaction of two opposing principles, love and strife, which manipulate the elements into different mixtures that produce the different nature of things. He, this is super simplified because we'd be here all day trying to get into this. So I'm giving you an overview.
De'Vannon Seráphino: He stated all the elements are equal the same age rule their own provinces and possess their own individual character. Empedocles said that those born with nearly equal portions of the elements are more intelligent and have the most exact perceptions. The next thing I want to talk about, it was called modalities.
De'Vannon Seráphino: You probably know your son sign, but do you know your son's modality? In astrology, the zodiac signs are divided into [00:38:00] three categories called qualities or modalities. These are cardinal, fixed, and mutable signs. The modalities are one way to help us understand each sign's vibe. The four fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
De'Vannon Seráphino: The mutable signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. And the cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So the cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. We're going to talk about what cardinal means. As the scout signs, which generate the seasons. Cardinal signs govern creativity. These signs are restless, active, self motivated, ambitious, and they often are the leaders in their communities. The cardinal signs are the movers and the shakers of the zodiac.
De'Vannon Seráphino: They don't just dream big, they also make [00:39:00] things happen. They like to take action. Their signs corresponds with the changing seasons, and appropriately, they're all about innovation and trying new things. When the sun enters Aries Spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere. Cancer season coincides with the beginning of summer.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Libra season marks the start of autumn, and Capricorn season brings winter. Fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. The role of the fixed signs is to maintain, uphold, and defend positions, responsibilities, goals, or desires in everyday situations. These signs are the least welcoming of change. Their role in the Zodiac is to preserve tradition.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Big signs are the BFFs you can always rely on, the ones who will help you move and bring you ice cream after a breakup. They're also supes creative, and once they have an idea, they'll see [00:40:00] it through to the end. Dedicated and artistic. However, these loyal signs also share a few not so positive traits.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Namely, they're stubborn as fuck. If they've made up their minds, good luck getting them to change their opinion. They'll fight for their beliefs, and good luck getting them to admit when they're wrong. Big signs fall in the middle of a season. Taurus in the middle of spring, Leo in summer, Scorpio in fall, and Aquarius in winter, so it makes sense that they're the stabilizers of the zodiac.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Our mutable signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. The mutable signs are the thinkers and the philosophers of the Zodiac. They mark the end of the season of the, or the completion of a cycle, depending on how you want to look at it. Gemini's season begins when spring is ending. Virgo's season begins when summer is ending.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Sagittarius begins when fall is ending. And Pisces [00:41:00] begins when winter is ending. Appropriate for signs that fall at the end of a season, mutable signs, no change is coming. They work hard to prepare us all for the transformation. They have the flexibility and open mindedness to understand situations from all different angles.
De'Vannon Seráphino: I'm a Sagittarius and that is all very Sagittarius about me. Let's talk about the stages. Basically these stages of the Zodiac take us from our shadow to our more evolved, extended maturation. Shadow is how you begin, and then you evolve into the light side through different aspects, though different aspects of your Of all three stages can show up at any time as we process through life, just like even though you might be this sun sign or this ascended sign of this moon sign, you might be a little touristy on one day, even though it's not expressly in your sun, moon or ascendant.
De'Vannon Seráphino: This isn't exactly fixed. This is a guide. I want you to be clear on that. Don't try to fully define [00:42:00] yourself by your zodiac sign. God's going to do whatever he wants to do, but a lot of us tend to fall into these general descriptions on most days, or a lot of days it seems. The beautiful thing is that if somebody's gone through a spiritual ascension, it's not very likely that you're going to fall back into too much shadow.
De'Vannon Seráphino: It's just not because an ascension is such a gauntlet and a grinding thing to go through, you know, once you've gone through it and have reached that, that higher stage of evolution, you're probably just going to be there for the 1st stage of Zodiac signs. This is where we all are. When we're born. We begin here in a space where we are what others tell us.
De'Vannon Seráphino: We are even the superficial qualities of our zodiac signs. We feel limited. We look outside of ourselves for answers. And when we find what we need, we [00:43:00] inevitably move on while a part of this phase will forever remain with us as we grow. We will also outgrow those parts of our lives that we thought we needed around this time.
De'Vannon Seráphino: There's a lot of. Mental and spiritual immaturity that we must overcome a week think we know what we do when we not that we think we have people and things in our lives that are serving us and there aren't, and they aren't, that's a huge reason why we evaluate relationships. That's because you know, somebody today don't mean that person won't change.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Technically, we change every second. The person you see in the mirror tomorrow is not today. The full moon that's this month. That's not the same moon that was in the sky last month. You know, everything is always in a state of change. Okay. So again, this is echoing the need to, to, to, to watch what we think we need and who we think we need versus what's actually true.
De'Vannon Seráphino: We need [00:44:00] logic and quantifiable value for people in our lives, not feelings and fuzzy emotions. We have to be able to put that shit on paper. You bring value to me like this, this habit I have brings value to me like this, this thing I do. Quantifiably adds value to me like this. It cannot just be fuzzy emotions and feelings, because that's the devil's playground.
De'Vannon Seráphino: People can easily be deceived through emotions and feelings. Or trying to pretend somebody is as good as they used to be, even though they're not. That's why we must master detachment. I'll be doing this different. Episode on detachment in the future, the second stage of Zodiac signs during this phase. We are in crisis turmoil and often chaos.
De'Vannon Seráphino: This is the moment of becoming for all signs the space between who we thought we were in the first phase and who we will become the third phase. This sounds very dark night of the soul ish. Very 7 of cups ish from the tarot tower. A couple other cards too, [00:45:00] but we don't get polished into a diamond by ease, but by challenges.
De'Vannon Seráphino: This is when we're tested and when we have to come to terms. With life not going as planned, with loss and even multiple tests from the divine, oftentimes this phase of life can be more solitary, even if only internally, as we come to terms with our truth and understand who we are. Then once we have, it is if we rise into a completely different version of ourselves.
De'Vannon Seráphino: The third, the third stage of Zodiac signs. As we step into this space of identity, it can feel as if we've won the war against ourselves. We see things more clearly about ourselves and those that we share our lives with. For many of us, our We've done a lot of self work up to this point, where we face down our darkest demons and walked away with wisdom to share with others during this time, we step into the truth [00:46:00] of who we are and begin to live a life on our terms.
De'Vannon Seráphino: It's a time of peace and divinity when we feel a deep connectedness to the world around us. While it doesn't mean life would be perfect or that there are no more lessons to learn. It does mean that we reached the Zodiac maturity point of our birth charts to understand our Zodiac stage. Of life. Wait a minute to understand our Zodiac stage of life isn't just to help us see where we are at, but it's also to give us hope that the journey isn't over what I love about this part here is that I was saying, like, we see things more clear about ourselves and those that we share our lives with.
De'Vannon Seráphino: When you grow, you will be able to tell yourself the truth about people. You will be able to see little things that people do to give away their true intention if they're not being real with you. Certain tones in their voice, certain eye movements and different things like that. You know, when you reach higher and higher levels in your [00:47:00] evolution, the most evil people will be laying right next in bed with you at night, in your house, in your family.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Most treacherous things like murders and deaths, some of it is random, but most of that is fucking people. People know. Witchcraft is no damn different. Usually, usually, people cast magic against people who are around them. Because you're around them, and you can reinforce it, and you have access to them.
De'Vannon Seráphino: And things from them, like their hair, or you can get inside their Room or their office or different things like that. I ain't saying walk around skeptical, but I am saying that when the Lord is gracious enough to show you these red flags and they might be subtle, they might be overt, don't you fucking ignore them.
De'Vannon Seráphino: In the lower stages of our evolution, we ignore red flags and try to work with shit that is glaringly fucking heinous. We don't want to let people go and we just can't bear to say goodbye because of how long we've known them or who they're supposed to be. When we evolve, we do like [00:48:00] Sam Smith said, we become too damn good at goodbyes.
De'Vannon Seráphino: As you understand, you got a whole ass purpose and journey ahead of you, and you ain't got time for no, no fuckboys, no fuckgirls, no dumbass people, no none of that bullshit, okay? And you don't even look at it as personal, it's just a thing, like this person's not trying to grow, they got weird fucking energy, they're not trying to change.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Or they might be faking acting like they're trying to change. Another thing you have to look for is when you do cut people off, sometimes they will try to act like, Oh no, don't go. I'll change. I'll be good. Mm mm. They should have done that because they wanted to, not because you're chunking the deuce.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Okay, don't be fucking weak about cutting people off. Otherwise, you could forfeit your fucking destiny over, over some person who won't be able to stand beside you at the judgment. Okay, after you die and shit, you gotta face God alone. You won't face it with anybody.
De'Vannon Seráphino: So there's this [00:49:00] thing called deacons, D-E-C-D-E-C-A-N-S, or D Collins, however the fuck you say it. This has to do. Let me just read it. One common complaint about astrology is that there are only 12 zodiac signs. How can everyone in the world be pigeonholed into these few basic personality types? Of course, this isn't taking into account a full natal chart.
De'Vannon Seráphino: A natal chart is your birth chart, that website, astro. charts, that I quoted to you earlier, astro. charts. com. Of course, this isn't taking into account a full natal chart, which shows us how all the 12 signs and planets combine to make a unique person. But even if you don't have access to all the details of your complete birth chart, there are techniques to look deeper within your own sun sign to see what sets you apart.
De'Vannon Seráphino: Studying the deacons is one such technique. Each zodiac sign is divided into three deacons, which are 10 day periods. each with their own special [00:50:00] way of expressing the qualities of that sign. If you have a friend with the same sun sign as you, but you both react differently to the daily horoscopes, it might be because you're each in a different deacon of the sign.
De'Vannon Seráphino: All of the qualities described by the individual deacons of a sign are present in that sign to some degree, but the deacons show how different traits of that sign are emphasized throughout. the month. So what this means is this, this is how a lot of Sagittarius people like to excommunicate the November Sagittarius, November Sagittarius dates go from November 22nd to December 21st.
De'Vannon Seráphino: And some people are just like, November Sagittarius is not a real Sagittarius. I don't even know what that is. We don't know her. It's because And then you have different cusps and things like that, that we won't be getting into that a cusp being like [00:51:00] somebody who might have some overlapping energies if they were born near the beginning or the end of another sign.
De'Vannon Seráphino: But these deacons are further, and I'm gonna put this website in the show notes, like these deacons talk to us further about, like, so if you're born from November the 22nd to I know, to December, like, the 2nd, this is, it's a more granular look at Within a 10 day, 10 day chunks of each sign. Okay.
De'Vannon Seráphino: That's what deacons are. I won't go any further into those. It actually, I'm going to cut this episode off here because I'm talking to y'all for the better part of an hour. And what I'm going to do is just let this be a foundational episode rather than getting into the fire signs. And then I will just press pause and just cut this one and then come right back and record the fire sign so that it can be like different.
