Episode #197: Netflix Documentary: Apocalypse in the Tropics Review

De'Vannon Seráphino: [00:00:00] Hello. Hello. All you beautiful children out there? And welcome back to the Sex Drugs and Jesus podcast. My name is De'Vannon Seráphino. I am your host. So lovely to have you all yet again. Today we're gonna be covering a new Netflix documentary called Apocalypse in the Tropics. I have quite a bit to say about it.

This one will be covered in at least two episodes, and I mostly disagree with a lot of what the spiritual elements of what are being stated in Apocalypse in the Tropics, the new Netflix documentary by Petra Costa. Our website is SexDrugsAndJesus.com. On YouTube as well as on TikTok, we are @SexDrugsAndJesusPodcast.

Now, this episode will go over this documentary. It's a little bit about his history, give you my opinion and what Jesus Christ has to say about it. They get into firearms, abortion, drugs, political idolatries, an angle [00:01:00] I'm coming at it towards, and we'll talk about, we'll, we'll just go through the documentary and this is covering.

I'm gonna read a little bit from Wikipedia about it, actually.

So from Wikipedia it says, Apocalypse in the Tropics is a 2024 documentary film directed and narrated by Petra Costa about the influence of evangelical Christianity on far right politics in Brazil. The film premiered out of a competition at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on August 29th, 2024.

It was given a limited release in the United States on 11 July, 2025, prior to its global release on Netflix on 14 July, 2025. The synopsis is that the documentary follows the growing influence of the evangelical movement in Brazil, Brazilian politics, especially during Jair Bolsonaro's tenure as President of Brazil Costa gains.

[00:02:00] Unprecedented access to both scenarios. Close associate, far right televangelist, Silas Malafaia and Malafaia's undeniable growing influence on Bolsonarism, as they call it, since the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. It's also a king part of the 2022 presidential elections results, which Bolsonaro was narrowly defeated in the attempted coup d'état in the following months.

At the same time, Costa examines both scenario's, left wing successor, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva , elected for an unprecedented third consecutive term, his attempts to unify the religious discourse in a Democratic instance.

Okay then, so just for like a frame of reference. So back in the 1960s, and this documentary does start off with like some black and white [00:03:00] 1960s, like clips of like construction being done. Like I think like this church, like in Brazil and things like that. 5% of the population in Brazil was evangelical, and currently it's at 30%.

And according to Christianity today.com in the website, we'll go in the show notes along with the Wikipedia link. According to Christianity today.com, by 2024, evangelicalism is expected to eclipse Catholicism in Brazil and take over as the dominant religion in Brazil. That's saying like a lot. I just wanted to, to, to throw that out.

There's a frame of reference for how this event, evangelical movement is like a, it's like a pile of ants to me, just like spreading, spreading everywhere. Just like taking shit over like, it's like pile of like ants just, just, just doing the most. So like the wow thing [00:04:00] about this documentary, about the idea of e evangelicals is like all of these people think that they're actually doing like what's right or what they think they're hearing.

God tell them perhaps I look at these people, they seem so sincere on the surface, but we always have to remember that a preacher is always at work on television. And if you watch this documentary like these lord, these politicians and these, the preachers and whatever they, they acting out.

They acting out like they know, like they know that camera is on. And so they know how to put on a fucking show. And that is the problem because you can't really tell just by looking at them where the line stops with their sincere spirituality and the showmanship. Then people get caught up in that evangelical showmanship and they think they're following somebody who's actually following Christ.

And that leader done, done stopped following, done left the [00:05:00] the Trail of Christ long time ago. And they can't tell 'cause they're still caught up in the showmanship of evangelicals and like Republicans and stuff like that. They're very showy, my God.

And look, the idea of mixing like religion and politics doesn't actually bother me as a standard because things do evolve. Just because it wasn't always that way doesn't mean that it should never, it just depends on how something newly evolved is done. Back in the days of the nation of Israel, the high priest basically ran.

Country as far as what I understand, the king had his thing going on, but people looked to like the high priests for like the laws and things like that and how are we gonna govern this? The judges judged the nation of Israel and everything like that. And so it was the spiritual people who really ran everything anyway like that.

But we don't live [00:06:00] in, in a society where everybody prays to the most high God. Then you have like that sort of high level accountability. Like a person could not be a high priest or like a judge under Yahweh and have like. All these scandals and all these wives and sex tapes and all, all of this and cheating and, oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.

And that is one of the major dividing lines where these people try to say it's, these nations are gonna be under God and all of that. But if they're gonna really live like that, you have to have those same standards. And a priest, the prophet, a high priest, a judge, or anything like that, like under the ancient of days, under the most high God must be, as the Bible says, above reproach.

So you can't have all of these scandalous things you like to run around and do and orgies you like to have, and all of this crazy types of way you like to live. And then be all out there in the public eye with all your scandals, and then claim that you're gonna be an appropriate judge. Now, ain't nobody ever gonna be perfect, [00:07:00] but the way them people live, like these politicians, these evangelicals live, okay flinging guns around on Christmas postcards and all kinds of, they too outta there.

You have to conduct yourself in a certain manner if you're really going to like, render proper judgment in things like that before the most high God. But this here seems very power grabby with the way these people are here, and it doesn't really come across as sincere for the most high God.

It's like they love the attention of these people and not really trying to give God glory the way they're trying to say. But let me get further into this. And it's a, it's a lot about of, about control.

The, I left a seminary when I was studying seminary to get like, like a master's degree in like. I think it was gonna be like in worship [00:08:00] leading or something like that, or whatever the case might be. It's because at the seminary that I went to in Houston, Texas, they were like, yeah, we like to control the congregation.

And I was like, this is wrong. We should not be trying to control the congregation. A leader can guide, offer alternative solutions, but we are not there to dominate people and to tell them what to think and what to do and all of that. We might suggest strongly with our evidence and say, this is what thus say at the Lord.

But at the end of the day, everybody has to pick their own path and pick their own things. Having God in anything makes it better. So the idea of taking the time to invite God into politics ain't a bad idea, but it's not being done authentically is like his name's being misused as a, as a vice for control.

And then the poor people can't tell. They just can't tell that they're being deceived. Now Petra Costa [00:09:00] is new to her faith that she confesses this within the documentary. And one thing that I absolutely disagree with throughout the whole thing is like her view of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.

I don't know if she even mentions the Holy Ghost, but from the beginning she calls God an abstract idea. And I'm quoting her like progress and democracy in the quote, okay, God is not an abstract idea, okay? He's a whole person and he's a being now for somebody who don't know anything about the Lord. And she talks in this, in this documentary about how she just barely started reading the Bible or something a couple of years ago, okay?

She just showed up to this whole idea of Christ like five minutes ago, like five seconds ago. She should not be on here. As far as what I'm concerned, trying to give you advice about who or whether or not God is an abstract idea or who, who she thinks Christ is or not. She has not walked with the Lord, okay In order to give these strong ass [00:10:00] opinions that she has about what God and Christ are not.

And and my concern with this and why God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost wanted me to get on here and deal with this is because the way she approaches this can do a lot to turn people away from God because she ain't really like for the Lord. She's barely trying to like figure it out. And I really feel like she could have done this and stuck more with like the political aspect of this, threw shade at the Evangelicals if she wanted to, but then kept her personal opinions about.

Her very new walk in faith with the Lord out of it. Because whenever you have a platform or you're on stage or anything, man, you have like influence over people and she sounds sincere and like she's trying and she just, she has that like that hurt tone in her voice like so many people do who just can't like say, figure God out and it doesn't make sense.

And then they just kind of like [00:11:00] discard the idea whatever. They don't look very deeply into it. And I feel sorry for you 'cause I hear the pain. However, the thing about God is God is not supposed to make sense to us. Like we have to accept him how he is. And you also cannot overthink God. And you also cannot get all like emotional in how you approach the Lord and act like he's supposed to act like how you think he's supposed to act.

'cause if anybody did that to you or to me or to any of us, you wouldn't like it. We wanna be accepted how we are. We wanna present how we wanna present. We got our pronouns and all of our characteristics. And then if somebody dares to stray from that, then it's this whole all this offense and all of this and all of that.

But then you approach Jesus Christ like he's supposed to do. What the fuck you tell him to do, it is not gonna work that way. And so,

so there's a very like anti-Christ tone throughout this whole documentary [00:12:00] because she's not really objective in like the spirituality aspect of her reporting. And I feel like it's very subjective. 'cause she's, she has a very low opinion of God and Jesus Christ and that tone is weaved throughout it. So it's, it's a, it's a intriguing enough documentary to watch.

So if you watch it. And I dare say watch it if you want to, but don't, don't, don't take away none of her points about whether or not you should follow the Lord. 'cause this, because she'll, she, she, she just, she's, she's not really for God. And so no, no Evangelical and no other Christian religion can represent God entirely. And so the way these people cut up and act in this video, the way you see people cut up and act in the United States, evangelicals globally is enough to make anybody, [00:13:00] like, if you're gonna be weak minded about it, turn away from God.

You gotta go before the Lord for yourself. And remember, Christianity came out of the Middle East. It does not belong to South America. It does not belong to the United States. It does not belong to Capitol Hill. It does not belong to Brazil's government. It does not belong. To white people anywhere. The, the Christianity is a Middle Eastern Hebrew religion and its original languages are like Aramaic Greek and Hebrew and things like that.

It it's not, it is not stated often enough in a religious circles, the fact that we're dealing with like a, a desert, sort of like a religion and things like that, which dominates the whole world because God Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are the original deities, and that's just what it is.

And from there, the gospel was spread around the globe, even as Christ said it would be. [00:14:00] And so do not look at evangelicals of this documentary or any evangelical on television anywhere and think that they have written the script on who Jesus Christ is. No. How they're living is their interpretation of it, okay?

And they're living all kinds of ways and that does not make them correct. So don't let them turn you off for following the Lord by how they cut up on these documentaries and everything.

But the Lord is not, is not abstract. You've got to get to know him just like anybody else. Anybody's gonna seem perhaps abstract to you if you're looking at them standing across the street or across the field, or just on television and passing. You know everything's abstract until you tangle with it and fool with it and get intimate with it.

So you have to walk with the Lord, open his Bible, pray and fast, and read your Bible, and then gain an intimacy with the Lord. Then he won't be so abstract with to you anymore, and you [00:15:00] cannot rush the rate at which rate at which you grow in the things that be of God and your knowledge of God.

So like

with all politics and with all of the things like, like, like say Satan will, do you have like this theme of like truth being mixed with lies? And so one, one of the things that is true though, in this documentary, you have a congressman and Pastor Cabo Daciolo. It's spelled D-A-C-I-O-L-O, Daciolo. said that the Almighty rules over the kingdoms of men.

So even with all the authorities present here, God makes the decisions. So he was talking about people in like their, maybe like you would call it, their halls of Congress, their political hall over there. I agree with him on this. It does not matter. Or really [00:16:00] who's in office or who has, what is a scripture say?

The lot is cast, but it's every outcome is of the Lord.

And so and so what? So what this matters is that. Instead of being so worried about who is in office, who's gonna make what policies. If you really have faith in, in God and Jesus Christ, then you not gonna be like freaking out. If you see some craziness, you get on your knees and you pray and you keep your cool about you.

But what you'll see in this documentary is a lot of people losing their shit and, and just freaking out. Depending on who they think might win the election. And so what we have here is a manifestation of this sneaky devil who are called political idolatry, where these same people who are like, so for Jesus think that their whole world is gonna crumble depending on who is in office.

But even an evil person, God can command that person to render good policies. And it could be somebody who you think is good, might, might lay [00:17:00] a policy out that you don't like. You don't know what somebody's gonna do when they're in office, but the scriptures say that the heart of the king is in the hands of the Most High God and like a watercourse.

He turns it withersoever he will. And through I say withersoever he will, and we see this in the Bible with the Lord hardening pharaoh's heart in different, different ways that he deals with leaders waking up. I think that it was King Hezekiah at night to go and, and like, pay, back somebody for something that had not, that the good that they had done, that had not been paid unto them yet we see this with Joseph, with the Pharaoh in Egypt.

Dreams being sent to disturb rulers and things like that. When God gets ready, he knows how to shake people in authority in order to get them to move the way he wants them to move. If he has to yank peace from them, prosperity from them, the purpose of the Lord will [00:18:00] prevail. And if you truly believe that, then it does not matter who is sitting in what office.

To the extent that you're willing to run around with tears running out your eyes, having a conniption fit and a whole ass meltdown like these people do in this documentary based on who you know, who they think is getting elected. and yet you claim to be such a person of high faith, uh uh. Mm-hmm. You're talking out your neck as the saying goes and living like a life of hypocrisy in front of like the camera, because you should not be that concerned about who was in office.

It, it matters, but not to the point that like, like to this point that you like, you look like you're about to fall out and crumble to pieces. That's too far. Like where's your faith? Really? It is not in the Lord if you're acting like that, but even though this congressman and pastor. The evangelical pastor said this.

I would not just like believe everything [00:19:00] that he says though. 'cause like I told you, it's truth and mixed with lies. That, so a congress meant like that, or, or say something that's true like that, that the almighty rules over the kingdoms of men. And so everything that's decided here is oh the Lord. But then he'll turn around and manipulate you once he's gained your trust with, with saying one true thing.

So you have to be careful with that. So these politicians and people with various authorities over various kinds of people know how to spin a lie, man. Or they'll tell you one true thing and once they gain your trust, then lie to you. It's like how, it's like how when I was a drug dealer, the dope boys like them trade ass dudes would, would do like would do like they would say find somebody they want to manipulate.

Give them a sample of like the pure drug being in a pipe or maybe they shoot, [00:20:00] shoot them up with a needle or whatever the case might be, and then sell them a large quantity of the fake stuff. Once they had gained their trust with the peer drugs. You see what they did there, and they would do it while the person was high take them to the ATM or whatever the case might be, or go through their wallet or, or, or sell them the fake dope really quick, or whatever the case might be.

But they gained their trust with a bit of the truth first, and then they switched, they pulled an okie-doke with like the lie after. So you got a lot of criminals and like a gangster minded people sitting behind these desks with these suits on and stuff like that. So you gotta be real, real careful. With who you believe and why.

And you must always be reassessing if they're telling you the truth. Praying, fasting, and reading your Bible and, and praying for leaders and praying around leaders and different things like [00:21:00] that too, depending on the situation.

Hmm, right To put it, to put it another way, is it in God we trust or is it in politics we trust? I'm just gonna leave that with you. Is it in God we trust or is it in politics we trust? Is it in God we trust? Is it in politics we trust? Which one is it? And that's a matter of the heart. You can't just say that. You gotta search your soul deep and see really where your value lies. Is it really in the Lord or is it really in the next election?

And like I was telling you, the Lord knows how to to deal with leaders. And this documentary, it, it reminds us of the fact that even Donald Trump rebuked Benjamin Netanyahu, [00:22:00] okay, over his lies, that there is no like starvation in Gaza. You got whole ass people starving and, and shit like this on television.

And, and, and Benjamin Netanyahu is the prime Minister of Israel. For those of you who may not know the Prime Minister of Israel trying to lie and say, there's no starvation in Gaza. And we all know Donald Trump is not above a lie. It just is what it is. But you know, when God get ready, he'll get into even Trump and make truth come out.

And that's not really Trump's modus operandi. We see this in the book of Daniel when King Nebuchadnezzar praised the most high God once Yahweh, even Jehovah, he's also called, got his hands on him. But before, Nebuchadnezzar would give glory to the most high God. He was erecting all these idols and trying to [00:23:00] and trying to get, get the Hebrews to worship these gods that are not of their lands.

It's not of their heart, it's not of their nature trying to get them out of their truth. But after God got through dealing with him and broke him and took his kingdom from him, glory be to God. Hallelujah. Glory be to the most high God that Nebuchadnezzar had to change a tone about him. Okay?

Remember, there is no authority that exists anywhere, and it does not matter what it is. If it's somebody with authority over one person or over many people. The Lord is in control of that situation, whether you think he is or he isn't. Be very careful that your faith does not get toppled because of how situations will look, because you don't know how they're gonna turn out or really how it actually is.

There's, there's so much lies on television and different things like that. That's why you have to be really, really wrapped up in Jesus Christ that your faith will be solid and [00:24:00] firm. There's too much listening to politicians. There's too much listening to people.

Everything is so spell binding. Don't forget, I already taught you that. Every word is a spell. Every sentence is a spell, and a spell is something that, that, that causes a different understanding to come upon. You can evoke fear, faith, trust, chaos, peace depends on the situation, but remember everybody.

Knows how to cast a spell. 'cause that's, they taught us in grade school how to spell. They could have called it anything. But when you put letters together, it forms a word. You have cast a spell child and then that, when you use that word to have an influence over somebody or to convey an understanding over somebody.

And so you can use that spell for good or for ill, but everybody is a little spellcaster on some level. It's just the way it is. We are all magical like that because the Lord is the king of magic. He [00:25:00]created all, He is the Chief Magician. The Chief Hierophant. The Chief Everything. There is no power, no magic that can outdo the Lord.

Okay? Because he created it all. And that's why we all can have influence over anything. 'cause we're all little bitty magicians, baby, at the end of the day, to some degree at least.

In this film, they talk about abortion. One of the key topics that Republicans always like to bring up, they claim they're pro-life and then wanna throw homeless people out on the street and everything like that. We've had that same talk. They're gonna have to explain themselves before the most high God.

It's not worth getting into this constant fight over these people. Like over these people in these crazy ass beliefs that they have. If a man's heart is filled with hate, you're not gonna yank it out of 'em. There's no sense in lowering yourself. The Bible tells us to cast not our, our pearls to the swine.

That means don't sit there and try to, they keep throwing wisdom at somebody who isn't just [00:26:00]trying to hear you, or the Lord says in the in, in the book of Proverbs, when you perceive not wisdom in somebody, you realize you got a foolish ass person in front of you. Depart from them. You can't do anything with that.

People who just want to be like anti-abortion for these reasons, these hateful controlling reasons, trying to say pro-life, let them alone. What would Christ say about abortion? Well, it is none of our business if the woman's committing murder or not. We go out there and we do our own sin every day.

And that's the, that's the whole point of it all. Like, but Christ came to, to cover everything. It does not matter, like, like if somebody commits murder, even back in the ancient Israel days, there was like an entire city set up for murderers. If it was like an accidental thing, like God's mercy is so like expansive man, the only thing that you cannot do that will be forgiven to you is the blaspheme, the Holy [00:27:00]Ghost.

Something that I understand about blaspheming the Holy Ghost is to deny Christ. There's something to do with that as a way to blaspheme the Holy Ghost, then that is something that cannot be forgiven you. Like if you depart this plain of existence and you have denied Christ, well then you can't be forgiven 'cause you did not think you needed it anyway, so you really fuck yourself over with that.

And you don't want to do that. So, so be careful with that. So, so there's not really technically like a scripture against abortion, but you know, if, I mean, if it's a totally healthy child and she goes and gets an abortion, well then.

It is murder because she has killed a living being. There's all kinds of complications that could come up that may result in the mother's death. I don't know. I haven't been in every room, but if the child was alive and the woman would lay down her life for [00:28:00] her child if she had to, which any good mother would, then trying your best to carry that kid to term is the advisable thing, and that's just, that's just what that is. Motives matter. I haven't seen every possible circumstance, but if there's any way that you could possibly carry that child to term, then do it. But then you can give the kid up for adoption and whatever the case might be. You know why?

You know why why forfeit a life over that because you think it's too hard for you, or something like that. There's people who would love to like adopt a child and things like that. I'm all for like adoption as a male I really curve my, these things. I'm speaking my understanding of what God would say about this.

I'm not a woman. I don't like to get involved in such affairs and things like that. However, [00:29:00] I am a minister and so that's why I'm saying these sort of things. But I'm not judging a woman. I have been to an abortion clinic with somebody a friend from the past somebody I used to be friends with I wasn't trying to judge the girl.

She needed support. I went with her, kept my mouth fucking shut, and that was that, but. But my whole point to you is even if you've gotten abortions, don't sit around beating yourself up over it. Just confess it to the Lord. There is forgiveness for that. Move on. I would don't make a habit out of it because it's because there's no complications or nothing to the pregnancy and you got pregnant.

You just didn't want to go through the, in whatever you considered to be an inconvenience of it. Okay? That's like lazy, that's getting into like a very selfish territory. 'cause the, the power for life is of the Lord. And it was the Lord that decided to put the child in you. And [00:30:00] so you gotta pray fast, read your Bible and slow down before you go, like, run, get an abortion.

No. Even if you've been raped and things like that, which is an unfortunate circumstance, but you know, there's a, there's a human in there, then it's because the. Yahweh wanted it to be in there. And it's not for us to say that life should only come forth from a nice pretty circumstance that we want to set up.

If the Lord has decided that something beautiful should come from the tragedy of rape, to me, that's like a flower coming up from the dirt. Like that is how I would view that. But nevertheless, I'm not judging any female. If you have done this, then just ask, confess, and ask Jesus Christ to forgive you.

And it's just that simple. God understands it is what it is. Move on. They talked about a legalization of drugs.[00:31:00]

This is just a control issue and that, and that's all that there is to it. This is Lucifer. Not wanting society to be free. Just like with abortion, it is not for one human to, to come and dear this. If, if people wanna go and do the, the negative low vibration or drugs, which I've taught you about before, like crack, crystal meth, heroin and stuff like that, that's on them.

There's perfectly healthy things in psychedelics, ketamine Tusi, Molly shrooms and all of those things, LSD. But what the devil has done is tried to ban it and block it all, but you have good mixed with bad with the drugs. And so the beautiful thing is we're seeing the Lord begin to balance the scales.

With this, I'm seeing that the beginnings of like even LSD studies in clinical settings coming about, we've got our shroom, we've got our molly, we've got our [00:32:00] weed. Okay. It's headed in a good direction because God is always gonna balance the scales when he's ready to. But this is one of those mixed bags.

But just like with abortion, people should have freedom to choose what they want, and then they're accountable before the Ancient of Days for what they have chosen to do. And violent people are gonna be violent. I've run the streets and been locked up and have sat in all kinds of situations with people who are, who are violent with, with, with, without a drug in sight.

And that could be in a, in a, in like a corporate boardroom, could be in a crack house or anything. People gonna be violent. They just have that way about them. And drugs tend to like. Amplify what we are. So for all the excuses that they try to fight the legalization of drugs, it is playing on people's fears.

And we see this in this documentary because it's a, a theme that gets played out, [00:33:00] that what you have is the devil is entered into people making them want to hate these people over there and try to avail it and cloak it as religion. But what the Lord said is that there will be many people who are gonna try to argue and negotiate their way into heaven with him and say, didn't we cast out many devils in your name?

Which is to say, what? Didn't we throw out the homosexual or the queer people? Didn't we try to fight the legalization of drugs? Didn't we try to banish the girl who got an abortion? That's that's all a form of like, say, casting out a devil. Okay? Who people have demonized certain people, certain classes and sects of people in society and these overly religious people who are confused about how to follow the most high God think it's their job to cast out certain people.

All right. And what Christ is saying is that when you come before him, the final judgment with [00:34:00] his rhetoric of yours saying You were anti-drugs, anti-abortion, anti homosexuality, anti, anti, anti, he's gonna tell you. Depart from me, I never knew you. Christ is not about to hear all your gibberish. What he wants from you is a personal relationship where you walk in love and you go forth with mercy and justice and peace and honesty and things like that.

Not with your tiki torches to try to light people on fire in the middle of the night as they sleep because you don't like the fact that two men are in bed together or have married each other, that she got an abortion or that he's shooting up heroin. That's not for you to, to, to put laws against. I counsel people against these things and give them the wisdom of the most high, and then I send them on to make their own decisions I'm not about to come track them down and capture them in the middle of the night over it.

They're gonna have their own . punishments and before the most tied God for that anyway. They don't need me for that. I'm supposed to clarify and help them, [00:35:00] help them understand why what they're doing isn't smart, even though society is doing it. But it's not for me to witch hunt them. And so.

That is dividing line with these people. If they really loved people and were really hearing from the Lord, they would advise them, give them counsel, and shut the fuck up and, and, and stop with the, the laws and the per pro prosecution of them over it. And the thing that testifies against them is you can't prosecute one portion of God's law like this and not do the whole thing.

So they're trying to take it back to the days of like those strict laws that Israel, where everything was like prosecuted and you were stoned and all of that. But they did it for one thing. They did it for the whole thing. So you can't pick apart somebody's identity, their sexual identity, whether not they get an abortion or drugs.

Then a couple of handful of other things and then that's it. There's a litany of things people do that might be considered wrong. If they could. I would like [00:36:00] them to make like narcissism illegal. Like lying illegal. Like they don't even have the 10 commandments, illegal fucking adultery, covetousness, envy, jealousy, things like that.

You're claiming to be a instituting these laws in the name of the most high God. Then you should have at least had all 10 commandments be illegal if you were going to bother with it. But they can, they don't want to do that. Witchcraft should be fucking illegal and all kinds of things like that.

They become hypocrites by trying to make laws like this in the first place, in the name of God, because they're not thorough, they're not comprehensive, they haven't covered all their bases, and they make themselves look like jackasses. Really? And it's, it is not a cute look spiritually speaking for, for these evangelicals and for politicians that wanna play this game like this.

And for the people who follow them who wanna support it and vote like this [00:37:00] too, you have accountability for the Most High for voting one way or the other with these people in their belief systems and everything like that. Oh yes, you do. You really, really do though.

Now I am gonna read a quote from Ms. Costa in here. And yet another one I disagree with, with her, she says, looking back, I think they were prophesying or actually planning the country's future. And she was saying, and she was referencing like just how they were, their plans for evangelical, for their evangelical future and how they thought the election was gonna go and who they thought was gonna win or wasn't gonna win.

And she says, prophesying, like I told y'all at the beginning of this show, this woman is new to her faith in Jesus. And that word prophesying is not something that's supposed to just be being tossed around like that. 'cause prophecy is not just [00:38:00] forecasting the future. That is a failed understanding that Ms.

Costa and a lot of people have about prophecy. See, the testimony of Jesus is. Spirit, a prophecy. But what Jesus came to do was to build up humanity, to really work with us, to really get on our level, to help us as true. Prophecy is future sight is past sight, and it's present sight as well. But if you read in the Bible about the prophets of, old a prophet did not just show up, read your fortune and leave like a prophet is a very special type of person before God.

And when we show up, 'cause I have the gift of prophecy things change. Okay? We really lock arms with people and with society and with whomever we're sent to. Prophecy is used for the edification of the churches. It says in the New Testament, which means things get better when you have somebody who's [00:39:00] truly gifted with the gift of prophecy involved because there's a special touch and a special anointing from God upon us that makes things enhance around us.

Things get better when you have us around because the spirit of the the spirit of the One True Living God God is upon us in a, in a strong and special way. Now that is more like what true prophecy is. It is not just, they just, they just ran through that word in church and they would just start saying like, like anybody can prophesy.

They would just say, prophesy this and prophesy this and prophesy this. Speak the future. Speak the, there is calling those things that be not as though they were. There's manifestations and things like that. Call it, that. Don't call that prophesying. Okay? It is not a word that you should take lightly.[00:40:00]

And in churches, they, those preachers back in the day they might still do it. I don't know how to go to churches anymore. It would just encourage their congregations to do this. Like I'm telling you, they would just, it's like everybody wants, wants the gift of prophecy. Okay. But not the sacrifice that come along with that sort of life.

All right? It is. It, it, it, it's it's, it's, and, and then I think the church leaders did this to give their congregation like a sense of power and control. 'cause people really covet the gift of prophecy. But you can't just do it. It has to be given unto you. And you see it, you, you see the same sort of covetousness eeking around and lurking around spiritual circles.

They don't call it prophecy, they'll call it intuition these days. And people will try. Every damn body has suddenly has this ability to [00:41:00] intuit this or, or to hear from spirit. but they don't know which fucking spirit is talking to them or which fucking spirit gave them this intuition to say they're dealing with devils or their own mind and things like that, and they don't know it.

But baby true prophecy is from God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost only. And you cannot claim the word prophecy unless you have been granted the gift of prophecy. Otherwise, you should shut your mouth about that word because it is not something to be taken lightly.

And as I have stated in the previous episodes, there is a stark difference in between somebody who has the gift of prophecy versus somebody who's called themselves an intuitive or like a clairvoyant or a tarot reader or something like that. Prophecy is in a Whole other different realm and a whole [00:42:00] other different level.

So I do not appreciate it when, when people say, like, like Ms. Costa did here just saying that she thinks they're prophesying. No they're not. They were just talking out their ass, just talking out their heart, even saying what they want. They were not prophesying

firearms.

You know what I loved? There's that movie on Whoof Jesus. I think it might, might be. Might be Hulu. Don't quote me on that, but it's called American Gods in beautifully written it's about like these deities and whatever in America. And they have the, the, the, the, the lower deity Vulcan, V-U-L-C-A-N, Vulcan, which has to do, which has to do with like firearms.

And basically [00:43:00] they were making a point of like firearm idolatry and American gods and pointing out all these different ways that people have made idols. And see, God is trying to talk to you even through shows like American Gods hit everything in there, like sex, worship, vanity, like over beauty and stuff like that, and all kinds of things.

And Vulcan, I thought they did a damn good job with that. And basically he was like the manufacturer of like bullets. And things like that. These deities, according to this show, have had to evolve the way they get worship from people. Since they don't, they're not like worship, like say, like in temples that you would think necessarily anymore.

So like the, the fire God really was like, like Vulcan kind of like is receives his worship through these people worshiping their firearms and buying so many of them and all of these things like that, trusting in their firearms to keep them safe. More so than [00:44:00] the most high God, just like before, is it in politics we trust or is in God we trust that.

Is it in firearms you trust or is it in the most high God you trust to keep you safe? Because, because it, it is not your weapons that have kept you safe. It is the Lord that has kept you safe. I say it is not your weapons that have kept you safe. It is the Lord that has kept you safe. Most people don't even have to fire those things ever like in like some sort of conflict with somebody.

And most people don't even know you own them. Or somebody who would try to threaten you wouldn't even know you own them, to really, you end up just with a whole bunch of weapons sitting around your house and I have known people to have them. Or riding around your car, your purse that you never use. So at the end of your life or the end of your end of each day, do you think it was that weapon that kept you safe or was the Lord that kept danger off you?

Because just because you have a weapon don't mean it's gonna keep you safe. People know how to disarm. You take those things from you and use the shit against you. Mm-hmm. People, people have been [00:45:00] hurt with their own fucking weapons and they would not have been hurt with that weapon if they not even had it on them.

And see that sort of thing can turn against you. So you gotta watch your attitude about weapons. There's other things out there like like say like Mace, mace, pepper has like a, a spray range of like five or 25 to 20 feet. So say it's somebody who felt like they needed to be kept safe, you could be it at your house or out in the streets or wherever.

Like something like mace, a pepper spray is enough to get somebody from up off of you without you having to shoot a hole in them. So like, so if it's a matter of like safety, there's other taser guns or what the fuck ever, there's all kinds of things out there that can be used to cripple or disarm somebody that would not result in their murder.

If it is a matter of like safety. [00:46:00] Okay, so I want you to question why you think you have to have the most powerful weapon available to help keep you safe, especially if you claim to believe in God , in the most high God, when there are less invasive, less detrimental, less murderous things on the market that you could have gotten just to get a motherfucker up off you if that's what needs to happen.

You know what I'm saying? Why the gun and not the can of pepper spray? Why the gun and why not a taser gun or whatever is it? Is they have in some sort of self-defense. Category. I don't know. I don't, I, I I don't keep anything like that on me because I don't, I just don't have fear. Yeah. I've walked the streets.

I have seen, I've had guns pulled on me before and all kinds of things like that. I have walked with, with murderers and thugs and drug dealers. Y'all all know this yet. I don't fear because I believe in the most high God and the Lord has never told me to go [00:47:00] get a weapon at all. I don't believe in them. I think they're absolutely silly unless you're gonna go a hunting or something like that.

But just to have them around in case some shit happens to me is an indication of a lack of faith. I really do believe that. I believe having weapons to try to keep you safe is an indication of a lack of faith in Jesus Christ.

And God has not given us a spirit of fear, but he has given us a spirit of power and a love and a sound mind. And you better be careful how you cater to. Fear and worry because that sort of spirit will leach up into you before you know it because you and other people own guns. It will seem like a supportive idea.

But then you all a sudden there stewing in this cesspool of fucking fear and the Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of love and of power and of a sound [00:48:00] mind.

And the wild thing about all of this worrying about who's gonna break into your home so you could shoot them and whatever you're trying to keep like evil outta your house, but while you were worrying about the stranger, maybe stranger who might break up in your house, usually somebody you fucking know.

But you let other evils come into your house by way of like narcissism and addiction and things like that. Mm-hmm. See, the devil has a way of coming at you in ways that you don't expect. So you're toting this gun around trying to keep perhaps a person of color out or whatever it is you think is going to be your threat.

But then you didn't realize that you were sleeping next to the devil the whole damn time, or you don't know when he, when they went out there and became a fucking devil or got caught up in some devilry and walked that evil right into your fucking house. Your [00:49:00] child's in the basement making a damn bomb, okay?

Plotting to go shoot up a school or do some shit, and you're toting a gun, worrying about somebody who's gonna rob you when you got evil right up under your nose that you're missing because you're not praying, fasting and reading your Bible, and you think you've got a solution in your Glock. See the devil has, has, has cast a really nasty mixed up spell on this world with this firearm obsession thing.

It's another type of grasp for power, just like witchcraft, just like, and, and polytheism all that deity worship and stuff like that. It's like a, it is like a, it's like a power grab thing. Weapons, how many gods can somebody get? How many firearms? In all these different ways people want to grab power.

But God has spoken once as the scripture says, God has spoken once and twice. Have I heard this? That power belongs to God. [00:50:00] But how deeply do you really believe that throughout this documentary, there's this, there's this like textured war of professed faith in God versus how they act. Which they don't really act like they truly believe in the Lord.

Not really. I'm talking about these evangelical folks. They don't, the way they act doesn't really speak of it. Not even in this documentary,

because in one neighborhood you could have like a house full of guns and then you could have another house that has zero guns in it all. Yet they're trying to claim one house just thinks something's gonna happen. Another one could give a fuck less. They're gonna say their prayers and go to sleep so it's really all about faith at the end of the day.

But remember the devil. Is gonna come at you in ways that you just don't expect. So don't spend that much time worrying about the human that might kick in your front [00:51:00] door. There's all kinds of ways he'll slip into your mind, your children, and he's just getting past you on so many different levels because you are over worrying and, and you are walking in fear and you're not supposed to do that.

To have, have peace and have faith in Jesus Christ is the prince of peace.

These people in this film seem to hang all their hopes on their evangelical pastors and preachers. Look, if you feel like you have to go to an evangelical church, then take what you want and leave the rest. Don't believe everything you see and hear. Remember, your personal private time with Jesus Christ is what counts at the most.

Do not be breaking your back, falling over yourself to go down to that church every time the door opens. Anything like that, your church. It's like an attache, it's like a, accoutrement . It's like an accessory to your relationship with Christ. It is not the core of it. It is not the epicenter of it.

It's an icing on the cake. It's not something you have to have. It's a plus, but not a must. [00:52:00] So, so be careful with, well, becoming addicted to church, becoming addicted to your religion, becoming addicted to the pastor, it can happen that these people were getting all kinds of emotional in this documentary over like their church or the preacher and everything like that.

It can get real weird, I would dare say real pervy, when these people get these sick fixations with leaders and the leader feeds into it. Pervy from the leader's part because it's like they feed into it and they don't really counsel their members about their independence. Like, like, you need to be dependent on the Lord, not on me.

It's almost like these, these pastors, like having these people addicted to them is, is, is what I'm seeing here. And that's very like perverted. And then these pastors do start fondling around with the membership and stuff like that. But it starts with that, that thing right there where the, where the members feel [00:53:00] like they have to have the pastor and they just can't make it without them.

And the pastor doesn't tell that person, no, you need to pray first before you call me sort of thing. Because it could happen in any sort of relationship where you have somebody, you can say like a counselor, a leader over somebody that they, they call it what? Transference. Countertransference. It could happen, but those preachers don't really turn it away a lot.

And then they end up sleeping with the people having all kinds of things. But it starts with that, that, that, that moment right there where they could have turned it off and turned the person back to the Lord, but instead they. Call them closer to them and then that's what shit gets fucked up. There's this over reliance on these preachers and there's over reliance on the church.

There's over reliance on the religion. It was a cute thing, but it went too damn far. And like I've told y'all, Satan will take good things and run it too far and you won't know when it turn from good to evil. In terms of your application of [00:54:00] it,

know the church is a, it is an extra thing. It is not a requirement. You don't have to go to church to go to heaven or anything like that at all. They could be helpful, but don't get addicted to it or dependent upon it. Like maybe as a suggestion you could just go when you feel like you need to or when you need like a special type of help that you're not getting on your own.

But feel free to stop like attendance and use church on an as needed basis. But always you gotta pray fast and read your Bible. That's like God's love language. That's the, that's the Trinity's love language. And you keep praying fasting and reading your Bible to learn more about the Lord at all times, whether you go to church or not.
